I installed Windows 10. I use Thunderbird 38.3.0 If I am in a FILE folder, I can't add an attachment by right click on a file (ie: jpeg, pdf). (See picture below.) I can however, attach the file, when I have Thunderbird open. Thunderbird is my Default email.

No picture.

Sounds like Thunderbird is not set properly as the default mail client.

On the toolbar > options > Advanced > general and make sure the check to see if Thunderbird is the default mail client is selected.

I checked your reply. Thank you, but it didn't help? I am wondering if somehow, Windows 10 is not recognizing Thunderbird. Windows 10 appears to want to integrate Outlook, Yahoo and some other program. (I only use Thunderbird and G-Mail) I however didn't integrate that pop up screen? Perhaps also, this problem hasn't surfaced before, as many people would open an email client then select the file. I always preferred to look in the file folders for the photo or the pdf, find it, right click, the go to the "WRITE" window of Thunderbird? It's not a really big deal...but so annoying.

Did you click to allow Thunderbird to integrate? It must be the default and allowing system integration is requited for what you want to do.
