I downloaded Thunderbird only a month ago. I have three email accounts in the program on my PC. In two of these accounts, when I compose a message, the line wraps only half way across the available space. In the third account there is a Toolbar called "Formatting". In this account the message spans the page. This toolbar is not available when I am composing in the other two accounts. The short lines are very frustrating as it means tables wrap half way through a line!

Any help welcomed and appreciated.

Sounds like the 1 account is set to compost in HTML and the other 2 are set for plain text. The formatting toolbar only shows when using HTML. If you hold the shift key when clicking Write on the 2 problem accounts does the formatting Bar show?

Yes, that seems to work. Thank you Airmail! Merry Christmas!

Holding the shift key when clicking Write toggles the default that you have set in Account Settings. If you mostly want to use HTML you can go into settings and change it and then use the Shift click method to switch to plain text if needed.

Right Click the account in the Folder Pane on the left. Select Settings Make sure you have the correct account selected and choose Composition and Addressing Check the option to Compose in HTML

Repeat for the second account.
