Firefox has been my default browser for 5 years, since I bought the laptop. This morning I get up and HP has taken over "WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HP PC". All my bookmarks have fallen off, I can't set my own photo for the background, and not to mention anything else I haven't discovered yet. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY? WHY?? WHY???

Did you install or update anything?

HP = Hewlett Packard

It is maybe not your main problem but you have a very troublesome plug-in - My Web Search. Google for information and third party removal advice.

Sounds like some HP wizard bloatware forced itself again on laptop, maybe after a update from HP ?.

I would be more worried about those stuck keys. Repetitive CAPITAL letters is indicative of a deep seated issue, one that might require professional help.

HAHA! Thank you all so much for your prompt replies. I've just signed on again after a few hours and everything appears to be back to normal, including the bookmarks. I defaulted my browser to Firefox again this morning so hopefully it'll stay that way.

How dare HP try and takeover! If they had asked I still would've politely declined, but doing what they did just makes me angry ..

The only thing I did yesterday (in the way of 'updates') was to do a complete AVG scan.

Thank you all so much :) :) :) from sunny New Zealand.
