Change default search in new tab
I have done a fresh install and copied over my profile. Yahoo has become the default search. How do I change this please?
I actually tried different versions of Firefox but cannot find any option to change it.
One article said to change it in my preferences tab. But neither version has one - I am using a menu bar and there is no preferences option.
Your assistance would be appreciated.

Use the 3-bar button on the Navigation Toolbar to open the Menu Panel, then open Options (gear button). In the Search Tab select the Search Engine that you want as you default.

If you are using the menu bar, you can find the preferences by going to Tools > Options.
That will open the options tab and you can follow the steps provided in this Mozilla support article:
Thanks Alex and Wesley for your replies.
Alex - that took me to the Thunderbird page.
Wesley - from tools >options I can't see any way to do it. On the toolbar there is no search box. On a new tab page there is just a search field with no search provider identified. No name, no logo, no drop down arrow either.
Any suggestions from here would be welcome.

Hi the-edmeister
Don't have 3 bar (hamburger button!
Thanks to everyone for the ideas.
I checked out toolbars and they are all installed - yet features were missing.
I hit the restore defaults button and the search box came back. Eureka! From there I could change the default search engine.
