Hi
It sounds like you are using an add-on for Firefox to do this.
Add-ons are developed and supported by a community of independent developers. I recommend you contact the developer of the add-on that you are using for help and support with this issue. You can find their contact details from the page you downloaded the add-on from.
I hope this helps, but if not, lease come back here and we can look into a different solution for you.
It is an add on that I obtained through Firefox itself. I have enabled it, but it does not show on you tube to download it in MP3
What add-on were you using?
See below attachment. I want to dowload videos in MP3
I don't have that one. Contact its support.
Youtube mp3|mp4 Downloader - I don't see that add-on at the official Add-ons website either by name or with that icon.
Closet that I found is this, based upon the icon and (not) very similar name. Youtube Downloader mp3 0.0.7 https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-downloader-mp3/ User reviews lately make it look like that add-on is broken.
see this AMO search and pick it out from that search. Then please give us the URL for that exact add-on. I looked thru the first 80 add-ons in that search and the add-on at the top of my posting is the only occurrence of that icon I saw.
Or use the More button that shows in that screenshot and see what additional information you might find that might help us help you. As Seeburo mentioned , each add-on maker is expected to support their add-on, and it looks like that add-on can't follow the rules or conventions at the Add-ons website to even be consistent in what he has named his add-on.

Just before I read your reply I found the 'Simple MP3' downloader and it worked. Thank you for the links. I had one before and it worked. It showed a vivid red MP3 button to the left right under the video...perhaps it is amongst those links you send me. Thank you very much. Will get back if I have any more problems.
Don't know what I am doing wrong. The simple one downloaded then showed that it had failed. I tried three times....same result. I downloaded the one you gave in the first link and it seemed to be working fine...but it also failed. Where all the downloads are kept I keep getting 'failed' with these. I have tried others too, but cannot see any buttons.
I did have one that my son got easily for me. I cannot find that one anywhere amongst all the choices. It was a vivid red rectanglular shape with MP3 in white imprinted on it. It has been so frustrating!
When I searched for Youtube mp3|mp4 Downloader @ Google see what I found. No exact match found there either and an overwhelming number of possibilities. And it's not unheard of for the name shown in the Add-ons Manager in Firefox not to match the exact name used on a website or at AMO; and some add-on developers have changed the "name" when they added features, or just felt like it - but didn't change that name internally so the new name would appear in the Add-ons Manager, too. Or vice versa.
Sorry, I have no idea why the download failed. Maybe it wasn't compatible or it conflicted with another one you already have installed?
Overall, Firefox add-ons are available from hundreds / thousands of places on the internet. This forum doesn't provide support directly for any add-ons, although if our support contributors are familiar with what is being used in a question thread, help is usually forthcoming. But if it ain't hosted at AMO the chance of getting help is greatly diminished. There are 'risks' associated with installing add-ons from non-official websites, which sometimes package the add-on within an "installer" that may contain more that just the add-on the user wants; like malicious software that the user may be unaware is even installed.
And regardless of where an add-on in hosted, the ultimate responsibility for support is 'on' the developer - not on Mozilla. My advice is to use only add-ons that also provide a support forum where users of the add-on can seek help from other users, just like how this Firefox support forum helps Firefox users with Firefox questions for the program itself.
The AMO website have the option for each add-on developer to have a Support site link for the user's of that add-on to be taken to the appropriate forum or webpage that they specify. Or to use the official Add-ons support site here: https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/c/add-ons
This is the software I use. Take a look; http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/
