I really want to like Firefox and do with the exception of: When I attempt to upload pictures to Facebook it takes an inordinately long time to upload them or sometimes just stops the upload process completely. I originally though this might be a FB problem but I can upload pictures fine with Chrome.

You are almost out of space. Delete some old or stuff you don't need.

Yeah....no. I think 854 GB of free space should be plenty. I also clear the downloads in Firefox regularly so....again with the no. This isn't an issue I am having with Chrome or Edge so you are treeing up the wrong bark. Massively. Thank you for playing. We have a lovely parting gift for you at the door.

It's odd, in recent versions I've noticed a problem uploading pictures to this site and one other one (progress graphic just keeps spinning), but in the very rare event that I upload a picture to FB, it goes normally.

At this point I only have general thoughts:

If you are using a private browsing windows, check toward the left end of the address bar for a "shield" icon indicating that tracking protection is blocking some content in the page. This article has more info on that feature and how to make an exception: What happened to Tracking Protection?.

Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? In Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

I started in safe mode and I was able to upload pictures and again after restarting in normal mode. This problem is intermittent so I'm not sure if this was a fix. Will see if it it still uploading tomorrow. Thank you.

For 2 hours, this morning, pictures uploaded quickly. Now it won't upload anything. This seems like a browser issue to me as, again, I was able to upload with Chrome. Yes, I attempted to use safe mode.

When this problem starts, does it help to reload the FB page bypassing the cache? Unfortunately, then you lose your place in the news feed, but I think it's worth a try. To do that you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+r.

That didn't help. It was fine for an hour or so and then it just stops uploading. It got caught up on a picture that was a mere 218 KB and then just stopped. The little browser that couldn't. I also see that I am not the only one experiencing this. This both encourages and saddens me.
