When I search for an item on ebay it goes to the ask.com page using firefox. This does not occur on ebay when I go through Internet Explorer or Google

Are you using the eBay search bar or the Firefox search bar?

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac=<Command>)<Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove ask Anything. Now do the same in the computers Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Hi, Couldn't find ask.com anywhere. Found a item that said "reset firefox" which I tried, and it seems to have worked so far.

Thanks Jim L

That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons.

So I'm not the only one with this problem. I went to the add on manager and removed the ask extension. So now I have only two extensions, DownloadManager and InboxAce. There is nothing in my programs folder.

I didn't find a "reset firefox." Any further suggestions.

Oh, I forgot to say that the ask problem is continuing.

Bookmark and use this; Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.

Refresh Firefox {web link} is a LAST RESORT ! !

Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

If you're having problems with Firefox, refreshing it can help. The refresh feature fixes many issues by restoring Firefox to its default state while saving your essential information like bookmarks, passwords, and open tabs.

Thanks for the suggestions Fred. Unfortunately, the problem continues, so when I get some time, I'll use the refresh firefox and see if that solves the issue.
