thunderbird crashes when i attempt to delete folders. I have different email accounts and only 1 of them has this problem. Under server settings..........."when i delete messages' is not there, but it is on the other email account.

That sounds like this is a POP3 account. Any folder you create on a POP3 account is local. POP3 is supposed to download email to your pc putting them on the account-name /INBOX. It should then delete it from server. If you delete anything from INBOX it should end up in TRASH, that's also a local folder. (If you delete on the server it has it's own trash) So INBOX and TRASH is needed Any other folder should be delete-able. Give us a description on what your trying to delete.

using the information provided above i change this account to IMAP and it does seem to be working. now i have an issue with thunderbird crashing when i try to write an email. will keep working on that one. Thank You for sharing your knowledge.
