I created a csv file out of WinMail (default client in Win Vista). During creation of csv file I was asked what fields I wanted to export. I selected Name and Email address only. Imported into TB. After import, opening the contacts in TB I get all kinds of bizarre data displayed. Most entries are human head icons with no other fields filled. However if you select one of these entries the correct data is present but not displayed. Other entries have street address in email field, Name in email address field, etc. I will be so grateful if someone can help me please.

Thnx,

PB

See my snip below.

When importing into Thunderbird, did you map the fields correctly? You said you exported from Windows Mail (Vista), just Name and E-mail address.

So when importing into Thunderbird, "Move Up" the Thunderbird fields for Display Name and Primary e-mail to match the "Record data to Import".

It would be better if you can export "First Name" and "Last Name" from Windows Mail instead of just "Name", and import them into Thunderbird that way.
