Why am i seeing this on my Firefox home screen ? When i see the word hack I panic!!!
Email hack: Hyperlink your selected text by pressing [Ctrl + K] then pasting a link. Begone vile pulldown menu.

A hack means in this case a quick workaround for something that can take more effort. You copy the link from the location bar and can paste it everywhere like in the textarea you use for a reply or in an email composition textarea.
