Firefox will not open. Instead crash reporter opens and that fails whenever I endeavor to post details of the crash. Firefox cannot be opened in safe mode. A jpeg of the crash detail is attached to the details included here. The computer runs the latest version of XP (OK I know XP is past tense but have had no issues outside of this current problem.)

Troubleshooting: I cannot uninstall Firefox. When attempt to remove Firefox via Windows Add/Remove nothing happens--that is the result is as though I did not click on the Remove button. When I try to Uninstall Firefox using the latest version of cccleaner (3.35) nothing happens. I downloaded the current Firefox distribution and installed this in the same disk location as the existing instance of Firefox. This did not cure the problem.

NOTE: This problem started after the trojan (trojan.afloxif) was installed on my computer; this trojan was embedded in a recent distribution of cccleaner. That trojan was removed by malwarebytes.

hi, in case you're still a user of malwarebytes please see https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/209334-install-3222018-and-firefox-5230-crashes/ and disable self-protection.
