I'd like to be able to select an element on a page and copy a screenshot of it to the clipboard. I've added "Take a Screenshot" to my address bar and enabled "Screenshot to Clipboard" in developer tools.

I click "Take a Screenshot", then click on the element, and I get the "Drag or click on the page to select a region" prompt. I click on an element and get the highlight box around the element. Then I click the "Download" icon to save the screenshot.

At this point, since I have "Screenshot to Clipboard" enabled, I should be able to go into Photoshop or Word or whatever and paste the screenshot. Instead the clipboard is unchanged.

Am I misunderstanding how "Screenshot to Clipboard" works? I'm using Firefox Developer Edition 57.0b12.

It would also be great if, instead of checking a box in Developer Tools, the screenshotting tool just added a "copy" button alongside "Download" and "Save/upload".

You aren't mixing two things?

You need to use right-click context menu in the Inspector to take a screenshot from a specific element. The Firefox screenshot extension available since Firefox 56 can save the screenshot, but this extension doesn't use the settings you make in the developer tools.

You aren't mixing two things?

You need to use right-click context menu in the Inspector to take a screenshot from a specific element. The Firefox screenshot extension available since Firefox 56 can save the screenshot, but this extension doesn't use the settings you make in the developer tools.
