I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 and after the latest update I ran on Firefox, loading a webpage left me with a white screen/page in the browser. I removed Firefox, reinstalled, started it up and had the same results. After that, I removed the ~/.firefox folder, supposedly containing user and browser settings that are kept. This fixed the browser, but I noticed my laptop fan working at full speed. I opened the System Monitor and saw that a core is running @ 100%. I'm attaching two screen shots of this, opening 2 tabs (facebook and soundcloud) and keeping them open. After closing the browser the processor goes back to idle. I'm wondering whether someone could help guide me.

Best Regards

Hello

while I can't answer your question (I'm sure someone else can) I would like to ask if you are using Firefox as provided from Ubuntu or Mozilla (for which you can see more here)

it also appears it is a beta version is this correct? if this is the case could you test with a release version from here

Hi bygabyga and thanks for the reply. I followed your advice and got the installation from the ftp. After the usual setup, now I'm enjoying the awesome browser that I love {: P.S. New icon is amazing, I love looking at it. Thanks for your input
