Is there a way to delete past e-mails in groups rather than one at a time?

I have accumulated 1000s of e-mails on Thunderbird and need to free up some space by deleting certain groups such as the "unread" category and e-mails from specific senders. What is the quickest way to do this?

You learn Windows file selection shortcuts.

Do one of the following: •

To select consecutive messages, click the first item, press and hold down SHIFT, and then click the last item.

To select nonconsecutive messages, press and hold down CTRL, and then click each item.

To select all the messages in the window, select one messages and then press control+a

Then press the delete key of your choice.

I would not use Select All on 1000's of messages. Break it down in smaller batches.
