Flash videos block Firefox from loading other sites
If I'm playing a video on YouTube for example, Firefox refuse to load ANY other site in any other window, like Google. As soon as I stop the playing video, Google loads just fine....
Running the latest Flash Player, Shockwave Plugin, and Firefox Quantum.

I have no issue with yutubbers or any other sites with flash installed. Did you go to Adobe site to verify that your flash was up to date? And this is with yu and other sites loaded on FF and Chrome with multiple tabs in each. So your logic doesn't compute here. And sounds more like computer issue related.

What do you even mean by this? It seems the logic has also failed your response. And why on earth would you have any issue with YouTubers???
Example: 2 windows open, 1 tab in each. 1 = YouTube or IMDB, 2nd window = Google that doesn't load. Flash in firefox is completely fucked up!
Hi,
Your system details show that you need to update your Adobe Flash Player, so would you please uninstall your current version and install the latest version, which is 28.0.0.137
Uninstaller : https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

I thought YouTube stopped using Flash and now uses only the HTML5 player. Could you check? Right-click the player as it's playing and check what context menu comes up. The Flash player has a distinctive menu that mentions Flash on the bottom line. The YouTube HTML5 player has a distinctive set of commands including Stats for Nerds. See attached comparison.

Yes they stopped using the Flash Player fallback since the end of July I believe.

Firefox Releases since Firefox 52.0 only allows the Flash Player Plugin from Adobe to run in Firefox. The separate Shockwave (for director) Player Plugin which is not used much now days (for some games and education software and such) does not run in Firefox now. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/npapi-plugins
The OP of this thread mentioned his problem happening not only on YouTube ......
And some people use add-ons like :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-flash-video-player/
The YouTube Flash Video Player extension should really be removed as it no longer works since the old Flash Player fallback was stopped back in July 2017. This and other such Youtube extensions have also caused some issues for users on Youtube since.

So, if YouTube and IMDB doesn't use Flash at all, why do you recommend updating Flash player???
I don't use any YouTube extension, and the problem isn't limited to that website. The problem persists on ANY website with videos.

Because you may need Flash on other websites. Adobe Flash Player (labeled 'Shockwave Flash' in Firefox) is freeware software for using content created on the Adobe Flash platform, including viewing multimedia, executing rich Internet applications, and streaming video and audio.

Could you describe what happens in the other window/tab in a little more detail. Does the tab throbber just ping-pong back and forth while the page tries to load, or is there an error message, or ?? Does it matter whether the other window is a regular window or a private window (same or different from the window with the video)?

Not sure there's any more details to give I'm afraid. The site gets stuck at the "loading" state until I stop the playback of the video. There's no error messages, no faded window (and it doesn't matter if it's a tab, another window or a private one), no faded window, no timeout from the website I'm trying to access, nothing...
I'm considering hiring an angry hitman to murder my computer. I believe it's the best way to win some karma while setting things straight. So lets not spend any more time on something that none of us is likely to solve. But I thank you for trying!

If you want to continue to have Flash Player installed on Windows then you should keep it up to date due to security issues, many previous version were found to have critical vulnerabilities even to point of allowing targeted attacks on some OS's through Flash. https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player.html
While most of the older versions before 27.0.0.159 in last three years are no longer listed on blocklist page anymore, most of the previous Flash Player versions were added to list for soft blocking due to such critical vulnerabilities, while moderate may not be. https://addons.mozilla.org/blocked/
