pop up blocker information bar

Why does the pop blocker information bar disappear immediately and a box pops us saying that you have pop ups blocked and you need to disable this or some 800 number for assistance? Why would would describe in your help section to allow exceptions from the information bar, when the information bar doesn't work or isn't allowed to be used? Seems really dumb to tell people your product works in a way it doesn't. Is it really too difficult to add a function to automatically load web pages into the exceptions group when a pop up is blocked?

Do you want to try giving the site permission to open pop-up windows? While viewing a page on the site, call up the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog using any of these:

  • right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Permissions
  • (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions
  • click the padlock or "i" icon to the left of the site address, then the ">" icon, then More Information > Permissions

Scroll down to "Open Pop-up Windows" and uncheck the "Use default" box, and then select the permission you prefer.

Changes are saved as you go, so after that, you can close the Page Info dialog.

. Whenever you get a message / popup like that;

DO NOT USE ANY OF THE PROVIDED LINKS OR ANY PHONE NUMBERS ! !

Such messages are only Spam that could lead you to Fake Support. Not only can they damage or hack your system, they charge you to do so.

You can report such a site at; Google Report Phishing Page {web link} which is the same when done while on site by going to Help > Report Web Forgery

You may have ad/mal-ware. Further information can be found in this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

A script in the page probably detected that its popup was blocked, and redirected to a different page, making the infobar obsolete. I've seen it on a few sites. Usually they are up to no good and you wouldn't want to allow their popup anyway. Or is this a site you trust?

I get this message box, just after the info bar opens and then immediately closes. 8006693900 . I can't seem to stop it with all different kinds of adware malware removal tools. Can't find anything in registry or fire fox settings. Is Firefox corrupted? Uninstall, then reinstall doesn't help.
