Why is it that FF 59.0.2 does not play some videos http://www.tangoandchaos.org/chapt_5video/17ismael.htm not even in safe mode, while Waterfox with identical addons works just fine?

Hi, it seems Flash is not enabled in your Firefox. I'm attaching a screenshot of the "normal" display for the page, which is a Flash placeholder and a notification icon indicating Flash needs to be activated.

Could you:

Check that the Flash plugin is not disabled in Firefox

Open the Add-ons page using either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Plugins.

On the right side, find "Shockwave Flash" and change its permission to "Ask to Activate" (or "Always Activate" if you don't care what sites can use Flash).

If Flash cannot be enabled, it may be very out-of-date. See below.

If Flash is not listed, it may need to be reinstalled. See below.

Official Flash Download Page

You can install the latest version from Adobe's site: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ -- be sure to uncheck any unwanted extras in the middle column of the page

After installation, exit Firefox and start it up again, then check the Add-ons page to make sure Firefox detected it and has set a usable permission.

Any improvement?

I have the latest Flash, it was disabled I enabled it but still no video. Funny thing is Waterfox has Flash disabled but plays the video anyway

The little icon right after the i is missing.

How does the video play in Waterfox? If you right-click the player and check the context menu, is it not Flash's menu? Just a regular Firefox (HTML5 player) menu?
