I registered to say thanks to thubleau in this reponse, as it fixed weeks of frustration for , in the hope it helps someone else. However, I did the opposite of their sugestion.

What worked for me was: Options Type in Network Proxy top left Click on settings as the search reveals Network proxy Select O Auto-detect proxy settings for this network OK

And not "Use system proxy settings" as thubleu suggested below.

My settings are auto detect proxy or no proxy usage so now sure what your network settings are like but I believe I didn't set any proxy for my Browser usage and it works without problem.
