Hi!

There's at least one autocomplete item that I can't seem to delete from appearing in my address bar using the typical method of highlighting the item and pressing the "delete" key (or "shift" + "delete"); it will appear to delete, but it keeps reappearing, no matter how many times I try to delete it. I can delete other autocomplete items with no issues.

Possibly relatedly, this one particular item I can't delete is always at the very top of the autocomplete entries.

Is there an alternate way of deleting autocomplete items from the address bar besides highlighting the item and hitting "delete"?

You can try removing the site from your Firefox history. The Remove websites from the address bar suggestions support documentation has more information.

Hope this helps.

If this item has a star then it is a bookmark and you need to remove this bookmark.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database (bookmarks and history) in the Firefox profile folder.

  • use "Verify Integrity" on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
