Firefox Quantum (64.0) has disabled some more add-ons/extensions

more options

The most recent upgrade of FF has disabled my Webroot filtering extension and there is nothing I have been able to do to fix it. It seems that the more recent versions of Firefox keep disabling more add-ons. Is there anyway I can get my Webroot extension to start again? It shows as disabled and there is no option for me to enable it.

Thank you

Hi moffettl, thank you for sharing your extensions list. The Webroot extension reads as enabled when this site requested the information from your Firefox.

Could you, pardon the cliché, turn it off and back on again by using the button on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then find Webroot on the right side and click the Disable button.

Reload the page (Ctrl+r).

Then find Webroot and click the Enable button.

Any difference?

That worked. Also, all my other missing add-ons/extensions came back. Thanks so much!

Whoops, I missed the update to your last reply. Please ignore this.

Hi moffettl, just in case it's this: are Firefox and IE showing you search results on the same site? To make sure the address has the same parameters, you could copy/paste the address from IE's address bar to Firefox's address bar and load that address in Firefox.

If that's not it, you may need to check with Webroot on whether they are aware of a new issue. In a support thread a few months ago, they liked to a fixit program that might help: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Complete/Webroot-filtering-extensions-not-working-in-Firefox-lately/td-p/329599
