Thunderbird repeatedly blocking image in signature file in outgoing mail.
I hope someone can help me. Up until the last week or so, I have had no problem with my signature file in outgoing email. I've been using the same signature file for at least 5 years. Suddenly, Thunderbird is blocking my logo image in my signature file in all outgoing mail. Instead, it is showing my alternate text and an error message pops up at the bottom as in the attached screenprint. (Be sure to scroll all the way down and to the right to see the error message. There is tons of white space.) The error message is this: "Thunderbird has blocked a file from loading into this message. Unblocking the file will include it in your sent message." When I click on Preferences, it offers to unblock the specific file path so I click on that. But it does not restore the image and my alternate text continues to show up instead. Every single time I try to send an email, this same sequence occurs. I tried changing the logo image in the signature file and that did not help. Clearing the recent history under Tools also did not help. Can anyone tell me how to permanently 'unblock' the image in my signature file?
I am using Thunderbird v. 60.6.1 in Linux Mint 18.1 Serena 64-bit. I hope this isn't an incompatibility between versions.
Thanks!
Kathy

I assume the path is technically "remote" like a server share.

what is the path to the image?
In Preferences > Privacy click the exceptions button in remote images. Is the server or file path to your signature image listed there as blocked?
Yes! That did it. It wasn't blocked, but I made an exception to allow the image using the path to its stored location on my computer. Voila! It's working again.
Thank you so much, Matt!

I have recently had to rebuild my computer and I have placed a footer image in my pics from a previous sent email to use as a footer logo. However when I try to send an email i get a blocked message at the foot of the message identical this previous mail.
I can add an image in the individual message but when I try to add the image in account settings I keep getting a blocked message and unblocking does not reveal the image.
The image is on my local hard drive under the Windows10 Pictures folder and not the one drive pic folder.
It may be the new settings of the PC after the rebuild but when I try to copy and past the path to the image from the individual email into the account settings for my account it still blocks the image.
I did read your earlier reply to unblocking images in the body and I have completed that task and I can place images in emails.
Can you help please.

I have html file which has a path to a file and Thunderbird complains about embedding it
file:///C:/Users/enduser/Documents/advertising/Email_Signatures/Report_Card.jpg
Putting this in as an exception still does not help. I still have to click on Options then click on the line below which is the same path as the above! Only then will TB include the graphic into the email. If I allow remote graphic option and reboot TB then it still complains.

I fixed the issue by creating the signature from within Thunderbird's write new message and embedding the graphic in write message window and then saving that as a HTML file. Then used that resulting html as my signature with no issues.

The above solution (recreating the signature using TB's "write new message" window) does not work for me. TB gives me the following error (in a log file capturing the error output) and refuses to load my signature.
23549:1:1028/172709.713411:ERROR:child_process_sandbox_support_impl_linux.cc(81)] FontService unique font name matching request did not receive a response.
Everything was working fine for me in TB 60.9.0, but signatures with images are broken in 68.2.0.
I'm running Ubuntu 19.04.
My company logo and 3 other images appear as broken links when I send mail.
How can I fix this.
I am currently on TB 60.9.1(32 bit) on Windows 10. I have used the same signature file for years. It includes an image which is held on imggmi.com. This image used to appear when I composed an email, now it does not; only a box where the image should be. If I receive an email from myself, under TB the image does not appear, though on my Android phone it does.
My signature is an html file which displays correctly when I open it in a browser.
Any help will be much appreciated
Trying different possibilities to find an answer including sending message to one of your volunteers. I am having the same problem. I am out of my realm with coding. Found a youtube video with simple step by step instructions how to do this and Thunderbird was recommended to use for this. I'm trying to insert the html that is from a photoshop file that was converted to JPEG with hyperlinks in the image. The links work in preview. Just need to figure out the next step to complete this project.
I designed a newsletter with hyperlinks to post in an email and can't get past this point.

Please advise. Thank you!

I give up. I've spent 3 days trying to figure this out and sorting through hundreds of posts that don't give a specific remedy to the problem and it has no end.
Thank you, Tere
