I have a new computer with fresh Firefox install. My old disk crashed so all my bookmarks (many hundreds) are only on my Android phone. Just pressing Sync now doesn't seem to work. The phone is listed as connected. How can I copy my phone bookmarks back onto my desktop? Any help appreciated. Nothings happened in several hours now. Can anything be done via usb link/file manager?

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Hi

If in doubt, turn off the sync on your desktop, sign into Sync on your mobile device, force a Sync to happen by tapping "Synchonise Now", wait a short while (10 minutes maybe), then sign back into the same account on your desktop.

I hope this helps.

Hi

If you sign into your new copy of Firefox on your desktop using the same email address and password as you use on your Android device, assuming you have bookmarks select as a setting in your Firefox Account, the bookmarks will sync across.

Seburo, thanks for your help! I've found enable auto sync in my Android settings menu, which I guess I need to turn on. Before i do it says "any changes to web accounts will be automatically copied to device. Some accounts may also copy changes to device to th web..."

I assume no danger of syncing in reverse, ie syncing with desktop wiping out whats on my phone? Just checking.

Are there any other remote locations/files for this bookmarks info?

Sorry I should be able to sort this!!
