Thunderbird freezes randomly while using it on Mac. I would have to force quite 10 times a day.
I am working from home now and my thunderbird has 4 accounts. Randomly thunderbird would freeze and stay like that, i would have to force quit to get it back to work. I can be sending an email and after it send i minimize thunderbird, try to bring it back up and it would freeze. Or ill be going in and out of subfolder from the different account and it would freeze. I have a mac and this never happend at work while having those 4 accounts. I would have to force quite 10 times a day and its driving me crazy. Other mac users in my company do not have this problem. Please someone help me, my job is letting me bring home my office desktop but i do not have the room for a desktop. I am trying to avoid buying a different PC.

Is there any difference if you run OS X in safe mode
https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT201262
or TB in safe mode (hold Option when you launch TB)?
I used TB under safe mood but it did not make any difference. I cant run my mac on safe mood while i work and used TB i need to connect to my jobs server and safe mode wont allow me to do that.
If you can't run in OS X safe mode, see if there is a security or AV app scanning the TB profile folder, as that is a common cause of freezes. Add the profile folder as an exclusion or exception or disable any 'Mail Shield' feature.

oki sounds good but how do you do the following: see if there is a security or AV app scanning the TB profile folder, as that is a common cause of freezes. Add the profile folder as an exclusion or exception or disable any 'Mail Shield' feature.
What is the AV app on the computer? Open the settings for the app and look for options for scanning mail, adding exclusions etc.

Ahhh antivirus, sorry im not that good with computer lingo. Well I dont have a antivirus on my computer nor any security feature that I know off. I didnt add or modify anything on the computer since i bought it
I have a similar problem but I only have one account. This did not happen in the past. It can freeze 10 times per day. It is not associated with receiving new mail or reading mail. When I minimize the window I often get a freeze.
katirializ, does your freezing happen when sending email?
No it happens randomly.lLike if I minimize the window for like 10 minutes open it again and it will be frozen. Lately it hasnt been freezing as much as before, but I havent done anything differently lately. I'm thinking it might be the VPN set up for my job that takes to much power and it slows it dow ln

Might well be the case. You might want to try changing the setting in preferences > Advanced > Network and Disk space > Settings button to not use any proxy (use system proxy is the default) This has helped some MAC OS users with networking issues. If it does not work change it back to the default.
Oki so my settings look like this. And I have been noticing that it freezes also when I send an email but it does not happen for everyemail. I turned off the VPN and TB still freezes.
