So i have the new 77 ff and its a pain my backside. This popping out of the url bar is just killing me. the solution presented below did not work any others: "Firefox supports an optional style sheet file named userChrome.css that we can use to modify the toolbar area, including taming the expanding address bar. follow the step:

  • Open the Tools menu (the icon of three horizontal lines in the top right of the browser window)
  • Select Options
  • Select the Privacy & Security panel.
  • Under the Permissions section, uncheck the box next to Block pop-up windows to disable the pop-up blocker altogether.
  • Close the window.
