Hi,

I'm receiving mails from monitoring tools with subjects beginning with "Problem: blabla" or "Resolution: blabla". There's always a Problem mail preceding its following Resolution. Every time I get a Resolution, I just delete it and its corresponding Problem.

These mails may be grouped into threads, each one having one (Problem:...) or two (Problem + Resolution) mails. That's a start.

I'd like to setup a filter deleting or moving an existing thread when I receive the 2nd one, i.e. Resolution.

The only thing I could find is something like "Ignore thread" which is not enough, I'd want the thread to be moved to a specific folder or just deleted...

No way to do that?

Not that I am aware of. The threading functions are basically very very old and were originally inserted for NNTP management not mail, as you may already be aware moving NNTP messages is not an option, nor is deleting them.

That does not make it a bad idea however, so you might consider lodging an enhancement bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/home I had a quick look and did not see anything. list here https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?product=Thunderbird&component=Filters&resolution=---&list_id=15384610
