problem with Thunderbird mail : double draft folder and double sent folder
Hello, I have a problem with my mailbox Thunderbird. for a few days I have had two folders instead of one for "drafts" and same problem for "sent". I cannot delete any of the folders and I cannot move one into the other.
I think I see why there is such a problem : when I click to get the properties of each folder, they are identical except for the location.
for example for the "Draft" folders I get : 1- location : imap://donald.schleich%40orange.fr/INBOX/drafts (for one of the two folders) 2- location : imap://donald.schleich%40orange.fr/INBOX/DRAFT (for the other one) see the attached document I cannot modify that. The folder which is active is the number one. I have a similar problem with the folder "Sent", except in one of the folder, old messages sent are stored and in the other I get the newest ones. Can you help me to get rid of that problem, ie I want to get only one folder for each. Thank you

Hello there Donald schleich. We have read your message. We try to help you.

Can you check if you have got a double account with Thunderbird? A imap account and pop account with the same initials?
Right click the account name in the folder pane and select settings.. Determine which on of the accounts you do not want and use the account actions button to remove it.
Did you had any crashes around the same time with Thunderbird? Maybe it’s possible to delete the msf file on your system. To reset the (inbox.msf) msf file. Please make a backup before doing this from the emails inbox./ profile.
First backup your profile http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup but do not compact folders as recommended in that link.
Close Thunderbird and navigate to your Profile Folder.
Find and delete the files with the extension msf. Restart Thunderbird. Thunderbird will recreate the .msf files as you access each folder.
See if this problem did go away? Contact us after trying.

Hello, Thank you for trying to give me some help, but I am not a specialist... It seems that I simply have an imap account. My problem appeared all of a sudden without my doing any changes on my account. Most probably it followed a program update... I do not know what the msf file is ...
Hello there Donald Schleich.
Oké try to go to the msf.file. Inbox.msf

Hello, My computer is a Mac. OS Catalina. To your question : "can you operate a computer" my answer is "NO" unfortunately.... I read the page you indicated and tried the first approach to repair folders, with no success.
As I said previously, I see a problem but I am not able to modify it. The location for the first folder I have for Draft is : imap://donald.....INBOX/Drafts The location for the second folder I have for Draft is : imap://donald....INBOX/DRAFT The locations are almost identical except for the spelling of the word draft. The folder that is active is the first one : when I want to register an email, it goes in the folder: imap://donald.....INBOX/Drafts and not in the other one, although I cannot delete the second one...
And I have a similar problem with the folder "Sent" Thank you for your time

If there are two different or similar accounts profiles delete the one you want to delete, oke. But do not delete them all.
