How to turn off Sponsored search suggestions in the top URL bar
When I click on the URL bar after opening Firefox to a blank page, it automatically gives me some recommendations (such as some of my bookmarks), but the top recommendations it gives me are 2 "sponsored" suggestions for 2 websites. It says "sponsored". Putting sponsored results in the top of the URL bar is too much.
The sponsored results go away when I start typing, but the sponsored results shouldn't be there in the first place.
Is there a way to turn these sponsored suggestions off?
I have auto-update turned on so I'm guessing I have the latest version of Firefox. I'm on Windows 10.

Could possibly be Top Sites items, see:
The location bar drop-down list can show history items, bookmarked pages, pages opened in tabs, top sites, and search suggestions. You can set what suggestions show when you enter an URL in the location/address bar bar.
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Address Bar: When using the location bar, suggest:
History
Bookmarks
Open tabs
Top sites - Options/Preferences -> Search -> Search Suggestions
Possible prefs on the about:config page you can look at:
- browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsored
- browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsoredTopSites
