Render issues: Images are black boxes since upgrade to 91 on Android 5
I upgraded to Firefox 91 and it broke the rendering on my Lenovo Yoga Tab 2 1050f with Android 5:
– Images are black boxes – Round coursers are tiny black boxes – In portrait mode the menu doesn't open at all – Navigation buttons are missing in the browser bar
To figure out the issue I installed Firefox Nightly 93, which shows the same issues (except navigation buttons). There, I even tried
– gfx.webrender.software.d3d11 = false – layers.acceleration.disabled = true
but it didn't help.
I'd appreciate any hint on how to debug more or on how to fix this. Thanks in advance. Andy

Hi Andy
Do you have any add-ons installed in Firefox for Android on your tablet or any security apps installed?
Thanks Seburo for your answer. I freshly installed Firefox Nightly without any additional add-ons.
In about:support there are some Android Add-Ons listed, though, that cannot be removed: Mozilla Android Components: – Ads – Browser Icons – Cookies – Firefox Accounts Web Channel – ReaderView – Web Compatibility Interventions
I had quickly compared this list to my Firefox on my phone, where everything works, and it seems all right. About:plugins seems unhandled on Android.
Do you have any antivirus or security type apps on your device?
Good idea.
There was some Mc affee App installed, but removing it and restarting didn't solve the issue.
I remembered that I had deactivated the Google app as well, but also reactivating it didn't solve it.
I have exactly the same problem on Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 (Android 6) with 91. Just a data point, have not solved yet.

If you open the Android Settings app, search for Applications and clear the cache (not data!) of the apps on your device, then restart the device.
Does Firefox for Android look better?

Thank you for the reply. I cleared the cache (~500 MB) and rebooted the tablet. This had no effect.
Same for me, no effect unfortunately.
