Hello,

In my work, I need to pre-configure how an attachment will be handled by Thunderbird (68.8.0), I'll detail a bit more: We install a package of software, some made by us, some extern like Thunderbird. We are using Thunderbird as our mail application and we want that Thunderbird knows with which application open the attachement that we are giving him. And of course, we don't want the final user to set this. So I was wondering if there was a way to set that, maybe by script or by editing a config file?

Best regards

Thunderbird 68 is no longer supported, but actions to be taken on attachments are stored in the handlers.json file. Note that the handling is using the media type, not the file extension. So if the attachment is coded as text/XML the file will be handled as an XML file despite what the files extension might be labeled with.
