When I search on the homepage, as soon as I start typing my search instantly gets transferred to the address bar. It's horrible to work with. I can't find anything that stops this in forums or anywhere

Thanks

As far as I understand it you want to type something into the search engine of your choice, Firefox squeezes the search query but into the menu bar, unfortunately I have to disappoint you for this problem there is no solution yet, however Firefox always works out problems quite quickly and as we all know hope dies last.

Shame. It's an awful feature so I'll be leaving Firefox

What is wrong with searching from the address bar? The search mechanism is pretty much the same, and you can control suggestions etc.

It's just not nice to use. You start off in the middle of the page and it dissappears to the top. Horrid. I'm not the only one who hates this.

Not a difficult thing to fix so don't know why it can't be like all other search engines. It's so annoying - literally a deal-breaker for me

Why not just start the search from the address bar? Then it won't jump? It is querying the search engine in exactly the same way.

Yes I do know that and pleased it works for you but I don't want to start in the address bar. It's at the top of the screen - annoying. Not user friendly. Thanks
