Purchased a new laptop to replace an aging desktop. Pulled harddrive out of desktop, attached as an external drive (F:) to the laptop. Mistakenly (apparently) thought I could just run TB from there. Went to F:, tried opening TB. It popped up the Create Account box. Closed that. Opened TB on the laptop (C:). Created account there. It downloaded new email, but I had no old email. So I tried moving the profile from F: to C:. Profile name is now there, but I still have none of my old info. No old mail, folders, etc.

Am I screwed here? Did just opening TB on the F: drive overwrite my original profile?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
DaveZ.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

Try this: start Thunderbird on new PC. Click tools>import. Then click to import from another installation and then select the profile on external drive. If all goes well, your preexisting messages will appear.
