I can't load any websites this morning. I keep getting the 'secure connection failed" error. I can't even get into gmail. I notice there was an update to firefox yesterday. I even uninstalled and then reinstalled firefox, but I still get the error. How can I get my firefox to work again. It was working fine yesterday before the automatic update.

You should find an answer in the article linked below (remove the blank space).

Hello Terry, I tried everything on the website you pointed me to and I am still having the same problem. I deleted and reinstalled firefox 2 more times to no avail. Same problem. Again this started happening after firefox did an automatic update. I believe that update has something to do with this problem.

You can try to disable DNS over HTTPS.

Are you using a proxy or VPN?

You can check the connection settings.

  • Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet, select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

See "Firefox connection settings":

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
