Because I was getting frequent and numerous pop-up boxes asking for my Firefox Primary Password, even though your site claims you no longer use or require one. based on advice from a Cox Complete Care Technician, I set one up. I am still getting as many annoying pop-ups as frequently. Sometimes my primary password entry makes the pop-up disappear. Just as often, my PP entry makes the pop-up pop-off momentarily and come right back on minus my entry with no explanation or rejection message. Why is this happening? What is the point? Please respond. Debora H. Schwartz.

Are you using Sync as this is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password ?

Using Sync is a possible reason to ask for the Primary Password at startup. This is because the credentials to login to the Sync account are stored in the Password Manager and you need to enter the Primary Password to unlock the passwords and connect/login to the Sync account.
