Ma neanche tanto assurda, ad esempio c'è un caso simile sul forum di lingua ingllese https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1398228

Sembra sia dovuta alla corruzione del profilo (per esempio accade a volte che un antivirus troppo zelante cancelli file legittimi di Firefox, o che un file si danneggi per un blackout, etc.

A mio avviso la via più corretta per risolvere è di creare un nuovo profilo -> https://support.mozilla.org/it/kb/Gestione%20dei%20profili#w_creare-un-profilo

Oppure prova a seguire i metodi indicati nella discussione che ti ho segnalato sopra.
