Il pulsante Invia/Ricevi non è mai esistito in Thunderbird. Per scaricare la nuova posta si usa il pulsante pulsante Scarica messaggi Se non hai fatto modifiche all'interfaccia, nelle versioni recenti è il pulsante a forma di nuvola in alto a sinistra.
