Have tried several times to establish chosen i-Google page for "home"; system keeps resetting to the instruction page (igoogle/help/ig, rather than igoogle/ig).

It would also be great if Firefox reverted to the i-Google page when I've closed out of Hotmail, and just want to visit other websites - instead, Bing comes up. How can I change this? (it's just an annoyance - I still use the search box, which is set to Google.) If Bing doesn't come up, QWest does! Don't want either of them, particularly.

Thanks so much for replying so quickly, and trying to solve the problem.

Sorry - I wasn't precise. I did have http://www.google.com/ig as the URL.

It works perfectly on my desktop 'puter, on which I use Firefox too. (Same OS, too)

But what happens with my laptop? I use Firefox, sign on, and am taken to http://www.google.com/help/ig - which is the instruction page for setting up a Google home page. Each time I've patiently set up a new page, dragged it to my "home" indicator, just as the instructions show - and it indicates a URL of http://www.google.com/ig, just as it should. Then I log off, and close down the 'puter. Next day, bingo, it's back to http://www.google.com/help/ig.

I believe it's an integration problem with Windows Live, since they "improved" their product. Since they added all their new options, this hasn't worked at all. They gave me the same instructions as you - and the instructions don't work.

Is there any way to go into Firefox and manually type in the correct URL?
