I keep losing my tool bar settings and it seems to be related to Norton Utilities running a scan and cleaning clutter. If I add a new tool bar it disappears. If I add addons such as fireFTP and Morning Coffee to an existing tool bar they disappear when a scan is run. Any suggestions to prevent this?

Set up Norton to avoid scanning the Firefox Profile folder.

Sorry about that double post.

I can find my profile but can't figure out how to "protect" it from getting "cleaned". I have a question in to Norton Forums as well hoping someone somewhere can help cause after 20-30 times it gets down right frustrating.

Sorry, I can't help you with Norton prefs or settings, I haven't used it in almost 10 years.

Thanks for the replies. It's amazing how if you ask a question the answer dawns on you. Sort of a Homer Simpson moment. "DOH!". Dawned on me I could get Norton Utilities to ignore the Firefox browser files when it "cleans files" and instead just let Firefox delete the cache when I exit. Sounds like it'll solve my problem.

I have the same problem, HELP !!

The answer is the same as it was 3 months ago, don't allow Norton to scan Firefox files, especially the Profile folder where personal data and preference setting are stored.

If you are trying to keep Norton Utilities from removing your settings in Firefox go to clean your disks and go to browser tab. Uncheck firefox.
