When I do a search and try to enter the web site that pertains to my question firefox redirects me to a page that has nothing to do with it and I have received Trojan virus in the process. The most recent one being Malware protection.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

This happened to me last night and today it is fixed. My son is a programmer and he recommended Emisoft Anti-malware. If you go to their site, there is a FREE EMERGENCY KIT that will remove this problem. It fixed my computer immediately...there were two malware files removed.

After I was finished with my search, I went back to Emisoft and downloaded their free-trial, full-blown number for a trial run & let it scan my whole computer overnight. It found 5 more files that are now gone. I am going to buy it and unload the "snail pulling an anchor on a chain" McAffee crap that is apparently useless in protecting my computer.

I ran the instant scan on Emisoft and it did not find the virus. Since I have used AdAware before I downloaded the trial version pro and did a full scan. It did destroy the Trojan.JS.redirector.cd. I will probably continue to use this one. I also have McAfee and it did not find the virus nor did Malwarebytes.
