I just reinstalled FF5. I had been having trouble with a toolbar hanging up (AVG I think). After the install I tried to import my bookmarks from IE. However, the "import" command is greyed out. How can I fix this?

That can happen if you are in Private Browsing mode.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
