i went via firefox tab to options, options to content and increased font size to 16 including on the advanced tab. it still looks unchanged at 10 size font. any ideas please?

Maybe un-checking the box (via Advanced button under the Content tab) that reads "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above" will help.

Also FYI, when browsing websites, using CTRL and "+" (i.e. plus sign) will increase the font size; CTRL and "-" (minus sign) will reduce the font size; and CTRL and "0" (zero) will restore the original font size.

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

White Alice0775 is Japanese, so her native language is not English and explains the strange English text that you've noticed.
There is no need to distrust extensions made by her because of this as she has created a lot of useful extensions to fix issue caused by bugs and regressions and also regularly makes patches for bug fixes as well.
