Since sometime last week, Youtube has been displaying all of the videos aligned to the extreme left edge of the screen. Resizing it does nothing, it seems to be locked there.

This is different to the redesign - there is no space on the left of the video, it's rather unsightly.

I've tried running Firefox in safe mode with all add-ons disabled but this has not solved the issue.

This is Firefox 23.0 on Mac OSX, but this was also happening very recently on 22.0 too before I updated.

I thought I'd be able to upload an image with this post, but I don't a field for that, so here it is uploaded to imgur: http://imgur.com/BsGZfBC

Anyone know what's going on here?

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Ah ha, I see I can add images here.

The question details says this was on FF 22.0, but I got the update notification and restarted to use 23.0 while I was in the middle of writing the above post and the problem still persists.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Oh, that's surprising, it was something in the cache or cookies, clearing that fixed it. Didn't expect that, thanks!
