Where do I find my profile manager on Windows 8?
When I try to open Firefox, a message comes up that reads: Error: Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.
So where do I find the profile manager on Windows 8 so I can create a new profile?

is it possible to rename the whole mozilla folder if you go up one level in the folder hierarchy?

hello kimhaeger, open a new window of windows explorer and enter this line into the address bar: %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox. in the folder that opens, rename the file profiles.ini to something like oldprofiles.ini and try to launch firefox again.
When I do that, a window comes up that says: The Place is not available, access denied.
I could show you a Picture but it's on Swedish.
What's the problem?
ok, i'm basing these instructions on windows 7 (since i don't have windows 8), but it shouldn't make any difference. if the whole folder-path isn't available or the acces is denied somehow then it might also explain the error message you're getting on firefox' start.
can you manually navigate to C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox ?
Yes and it says the same thing when I'm trying to get in the firefox folder.
can you attach a screenshot? maybe this will help...
Are you the Adminstrator of this computer? -Maybe if you arent the ADM you cant access these folder
Post a screenshot of the message:
Like I said, its on Swedish. But a simple translation is ...Mozilla\Firefox is not available, and then Access Denied.
thanks, maybe try it with this solution from microsoft's knowledge base: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810881/
I am the administrator and I have full competence, but it says that I even if I'm that, I still dont have acces to read the files.
In this Picture, my straight on translation of what it says is something like this: If you want to try to take over the ownership on this object, which gives you the competence to see the properties, you can click on Change above. But there isnt any "Change above" anywhere.
And thank you for the link you gave me, but it didnt help me sorry.

That actually worked! I got in on firefox now and it created a whole new mozilla folder. Thank you so much for your help!
Are you still using your current Windows account or did Windows create a temp profile?
Are there any files in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\ or possibly AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\?
Note that the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and later Window 7+ versions and the "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K are hidden folders.
