For the past few days Firefox has been showing blank pages. This primarily happens on sites where I am trying to download games or looking for game info. For example,if I am at a game site and I find a game I like and click to download I get one or more blank pages. When I close them the page I want is under the blanks ones. What might be causing this and is there a fix? Thanks for any help.

One possibility is that these windows are pop-up ads, but you are using an add-on or external software that blocks the ad page, leaving the window blank. Is there anything in the address bar of the windows showing what page was intended to load?

I am using pop up blockers. Basically the page just says Mozilla or Firefox on the header along with a bunch of letters and numbers. Like I said this just started a few days ago

So the pages are not blank, they are a jumble of letters and numbers? Or the addresses of the pages are a jumble of letters and numbers?

I'm having a hard time picturing this...

On these pages, can copy the addresses from the address bars (or right-click the page and use View Page Info to find the address) and paste them into a reply here?

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog , click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

If Firefox behaves better in Safe Mode, the most likely culprit is an extension.

This article might help you track it down and remove it: Remove gir.driveropti.net pop-up ads (Virus Removal Guide).

Any luck?
