I am having "browser specific" issues with Firefox. I work on a Mac with OS 10.7.5. I contacted Apple support thinking the problem with my operating system. We reinstalled the operating system and the firefox crashes continued. We then deleted Firefox from the Applications folder and downloaded a new Firefox application. The freezes continue with spinning beach ball. Firefox freezes my computer prevent me from quitting Firefox or opening any other application. When I recreate these steps in Safari and visit the URL where the freeze occurred I do not have these problems. The pages load and Finder operates with no problems. Please advise

Are you able to open Firefox to retrieve crash reports? Press CMD + L and type about:crashes and copy/paste the first five that begin with bp- into the comment box here.

If you aren't able to open Firefox, please use the steps below to get your crash reports. (OS X 10.7 or above) Click the Finder icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the Go menu, hold down the option or alt key and select Library. A window will open containing your Library folder. Then open the "Application Support" folder, the "Firefox" folder, the "Crash Reports" folder and finally the "submitted" folder.

  1. Open the 5 most recent files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  2. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.
