I can open any website in my favorites of IE,Mozilla and Google Chrome, except www.pgmusic.com
I cannot open the site,www. pgmusic.com,with IE8,Mozilla nor Google Chrome. I can open all other sites in my Favories or Bookmarks on my desktop running Win XP Home SP3. I have the same problem with my laptop with IE10 and Google Chrome that runs Win 8.The common thing is my Mobile Partner(HUAWEI) USB modem that I have to insert in either PC to connect to the Internet or check email. I have uninstall and re-installed its SW but still have the same problem. No problem with emails with gmail,OE or Mail.

Did you try to power the router off/on?
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if this helps.

Now I'm on WinXP SP3 and works normal.
Did you try clear your cache and cookies?
- How to clear the Firefox cache
- Delete cookies to remove the information websites have stored on your computer
Check if this happens in Safe Mode:

I have done everything in your list except create a new profile. According to some results of my testing,I'm going to contact my ISP and check them out. If there is no headway there,I'll create a new profile. But it makes sense to me that since I can't connect to that site with IE,Firefox and Chrome in my desktop PC(Win XP Home) and my laptop(Win 8),the common denominator is my USB modem and SW my ISP provided. I'll let you know how that works out. Thanks for your quick reply. I hope I can resolve this problem soon. Best Regards, Ken

Try to reset (power off/on) the router.
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

cor-el,
I will go through all the info you have sent me. Thanks!! At least it gives me options to check many possible problems and a way to find them. I asked that site to send me their IP address, just to see if the problem lies in the url to IP address conversion. I have run a full scan with Norton 360 and ran all parts of Norton Utilities. But I'm sure the other various SW you listed may lead to a resolution or eliminate certain areas. Thanks again!! You'll be the first to know when the problem is resolved.
Best Regards, Ken
cor-el,
I have done the following:
Malware runs 1.Malwarebytes' Updated, 6 threats all quarrantined 2.AdwCleaner Updated, Deleted only those with programs I don't use 3.Norton Power Eraser Autorun.inf removed 4.SuperAntispyware Update, 12 Adware cookies removed 5.Microsoft Safety Scanner Nothing detected 6.Windows Defender Only for Win Vista or 7(I have Win XP Home) 7.Spybot Search & Destroy Updated, Syatem Scan,Rootkit Scan Nothing removed 8.Kasperky Free Security Scan No problems found 9.Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller No threats found 10. I have no pop up problems with my system. Nothing changed after checking the SW above and I'm going to start the Error_Loading_Websites at the top of your reply, but I get no errors,it just times out. Pretty strange problem,eh?? I contacted pgmusic via email and they say their site is fine with no problems and up and running.
I'm contacting my ISP today, also, and may take my USB modem to a friends PC store for a test, too.

cor-el,
I have a HUAWEI USB Modem, using Mobiie Partner, that I connect to my desktop with Win XP Home or my laptop with Win 8.It is turned off every time I shut either device off. I have disconnected it using the Safely Remove Hardware a few times and removed the program for it(Add/ Remove Programs),re-inserted it and re-installed the SW. The problem never changed. When I use Safe Mode, with or without networking,I cannot use the device. In the Mobile Partner window,Tool,Options,no Network Type or Band are present When in Safe Mode. My Internet connection,Kolbi,is displayed but without the Type or Band, nothing will ever happen. The Type is WCDMA preferred, but when I connect,it usually goes to HSDPA.
Ken
Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings and disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
(If you're using an added theme, switch to the Default theme.)
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu by clicking on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item:
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.
Thank you.
FredMcD, As you can see by the history of my messages with cor-el,I have gone through many tests and checks. I have tried Safe Mode.I can't use it to get on-line because there is no Type(WCDMA) or Band(All) in its config. when in Safe Mode. I have tried many types of system cleaning tools and none of them have changed my problem. And one note for you and cor-el. On my laptop with Win 8:
After I uninstalled my Mobile Partner SW,then reinstalled it,the first site I went to was pgmusic.com. It started to load, then I got a message that I had to download and install the Adobe Flash Player plug-in,but the site was opened and I could see it and move through it. After I installed the plug-in,opened Firefox and tried to load pgmusic.com again,I had the same problem I have had all along. I did get one message that there is an update for my USB Modem device, but I want to check with my ISP to see if that is OK. The update was for an E620,but my device is a E1556.I don't want any more problems than I already have. I have seen others mention this problem at the forum of windowssecrets.com but nothing to resolve it,yet. The only difference I have seen in Win XP and Win 8 is the connection wheel now spins green(before it was always gray). Is this progress??
Ken
Everyone,
Thanks for your help. All my problems with the site,pgmusic.com,are gone!
On my desktop(Win XP):
I updated all my plug-ins(and set them to update automatically) and I still had the problem. I then ran 1-Click PC Care(from Wondershare) and after the Fix was executed,I was able to load the site. Too bad, they don't have a Win 8 version. Another good tool for Win XP and Win 8 is Balarc's Advisor It builds a profile of your PC and notifies you about SW that isn't up to date and links to update it.
On my laptop(Win 8):
After running Balarc Advisor and updating SW shown as not up to date, I could load the problem site. I have some other functionality problems with Win 8,but nothing that can't be resolved by downloading some Apps. In 1-Click PC Care my complete Network was secure according to the summary. On my laptop,I'll fix the pesky problems when I get the chance, but it runs fine.
Thanks again for your advice. It didn't always resolve things, but I sure learned a lot going through the process. I did find 1 site that was very helpful, http://pcsupport.about.com/,especially about Win 8 trouble-shooting,Recovery, Advanced Startup Options,etc.. Best Regards, Ken Costa Rica
