on 7/7/14 I was able to download the update to go from shock wave flash 14.0.0.125 to 14.0.0.145. Now I follow the same steps , download, save, run. Then nothing happens. I checked the web site which told me I still have the .145 version.

Chosen solution

I now have the adobe flash player 14 active x version 176 but still have the plugin version 145. Thank you for trying - I will look at the forum again tomorrow and see if there is something else I can do. I appreciate your trying to help.

You can find the latest Flash player versions for Firefox on this page:

You may have to run the Flash installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).

I went through the process again and it worked! Thank you for the link. I think where I went wrong the other time was that I did not close firefox when prompted in the installation instructions. I did try to run it as the administrator (I right clicked on the run prompt but I was not given this choice). I have a feeling I did not right click on the proper word. Thank you for the help. I was not a member of this forum but now that I have used it, I will look at it again - it seems a good place to learn things and maybe I can even help someone.

I am having the same problem again - I am trying to download the update for shockwave flash and I get to the point where I click on allow the program to make changes on my hard drive and then nothing? I tried going to the adobe ikon on my desktop and seeing if there were updates but it says there are none. Does anyone have a solution - I would appreciate any help.
