Problems with Firefox 60.0.1 on Windows 10 1803
I recently updated Windows 10 to 1803. At the time, I had Firefox 59 and was having some issues with certain sites. I updated Firefox to 60.0.1, but the issues remain.
Every time I open Firefox, it asks me if I want to make it my default browser, even though it already is. I found another potential solution to this, which I will do later.
The default Mozilla Firefox Start Page won't load. I just get a message that access was denied, and "The file at about:home is not readable."
When I go to access Google Drive, the page will not load or function properly. This was never an issue before.
Also, when I go to LinkedIn, the page will not load completely. I am sure there are other sites having this same issue.
Chosen solution
Such and other issues are likely not fixed by upgrading a program’s version.
See if this question for a clean reinstall helps. It’s a bit older but should still apply, i.e. uninstall Firefox in Add/Remove Programs, rename the old program folder and use the full installer found here. You won’t lose settings and customizations (kept in your profile), and setting it as default browser may be possible too.
