This occurs in all profiles. Seems as if sessions are stored in a temporary folder. I try to keep certain folders open in tabs. Session(s) remain intact for a day. When I open T-Bird a day or 3 later, tabs are missing and I have to locate the folders again.

By default, TB opens the tabs that were open at last closing. If that's not working, open the profile folder from Help/Troubleshooting, click Open Folder, close TB, and delete session.json.

Cannot locate session.json . Perhaps sessionCheckpoints.json ??

Deleting this seems to have worked. when I restarted T-bird, session.json appeared
