Hi All ..I have a sky email here in UK which uses Yahoo email, I have tried to set up email account. I have put my details in and Thunderbird has picked up the old sky details (tools) >which I have changed as per yahoo's instructions to imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com I have then done test which comes back as OK. tap on done and it checks the set up but then comes back with wrong config, user name or password. these are both correct. Help its driving me up the wall as all seems correct.

Hi I have been on to McAfee and they have said it is not McAfee stopping emails getting sent. He even tried turning McAfee off and no difference.

I think you need to click Advanced config. in the setup window and set the authentication to OAuth2:

Make sure the smtp authentication is OAuth2, and disable any mail scanning option by your antivirus, usually by adding the TB profile folder as an exclusion or exception, disabling Mail Shield or the equivalent. Disable a VPN if you have one.

Test if McAfee is an issue by running Windows in safe mode with networking, to bypass startup apps.
