Only messages with attachments appear on the screen
My wife (the Marcia in "mail4marcia") and I are using Thunderbird 128.3.3esr (64-bit) on an Acer Windows 11 computer.
Sometime within the last couple of days some control or setting must have changed and only emails that have attachments display in any of the email messages lists in Thunderbird. I tried testing this by sending two tiny emails from another computer to this one. One msg had a tiny attachment, the other did not. On the Acer computer, both messages appeared in indicators that each msg was received, but only the msg with the attachment appeared in my inbox. I then removed the attachment from the email that had it and the email immediately disappeared from my inbox display. I looked at a few mail folders that I rarely use. In some of them there were headings for few or no msgs, in the display but the mailbox index for the folder said that there were unread emails there.
I checked my settings, looked for add-ons and themes that we have (don't think we have any), and searched the Internet. No luck. Does anyone have any experience with this or any ideas about what can be tried?
I'm going to be in a place where Internet access is poor and I may not see your answers until a little over two weeks from now. If I don't respond until after that, please forgive me.
Thank you.
Alan

If using the menu bar select ... View-Toolbars-Quick Filter Bar If the Menu Bar is hidden press the alt key.
If using the 3 line AppMenu button they moved it under Options. Hover over options, do not click, then select Quick Filter Bar when it appears.
